What is Art?

Title: Art Through the Eyes of Parla Mutlu: The Bridge Between Nature, Culture and Humanity

For me, as a contemporary painter Parla Mutlu, art is not just a visual expression, but a sacred bridge between nature, culture and human existence. Art is a reflection of the energies hidden in every particle of life, every fiber of nature, every cultural memory and every lived moment of a person. This perspective is clearly seen in my works, from the forgotten hand-woven carpets in my collection “From Surface to Deep” to Greek archetypes such as Demeter, Persephone and Aphrodite.

Art, for me, is a revival of the past and a journey into the future. When I bring worn-out carpets back to life with symbolic images, I retell the stories of the wool, the plants, the local weavers, and their family lives—they no longer lie beneath our feet, but shine as living masterpieces before our eyes. In my Greek archetypes, art is a journey into mythology, femininity, and the cycles of nature, evoking deep emotion and spirituality through symbols such as orchids, pomegranates, and swans.

I believe art is inspiring, meaningful and connected to the earth. My paintings, created with acrylics, vibrant colors and magical realism, invite us to think about the role of people, nature and culture. This art is created not only for beauty, but for healing, understanding and connection to the world.

The stories of my art are waiting for you at www.parlamutlu.com. Let's celebrate the values between nature and humans, let's go on this journey together.
